Laurie Barnes, Elizabeth B. McGraw Senior Curator of Chinese Art, will present a talk about two artforms which have maintained worldwide popularity for centuries: Chinese and Japanese blue-and-white porcelain and indigo-dyed textiles. The exhibition, Classic Blues, highlights the decorative techniques of hand-painting and stenciling used across both media in the exhibition on porcelain objects and textiles.
